Chronos works by using ultraviolet light (UV-C) for high level disinfection that is fully automated and chemical-free. The system is rigorously tested to improve patient safety by significantly reducing the risk of cross-contamination. As a result, automated systems such as Chronos are favoured over wipe solutions by many guidelines.

UV-C HLD (High Level Disinfection) works when UV-C light penetrates the cel wall of microorganisms (Bacteria, Funghi, Viruses, Mycobacteria and Spores) and disintegrates their DNA and RNA. This leaves the microorganisms unable to perform their cellular functions and replications, thereby destroying them.
