Automatic ultrasound probe high-level disinfection (HLD) system

Chronos Max

In modern healthcare settings, efficiency and patient safety are inseparable. The Chronos Max offers a rapid, chemical-free solution for High-Level Disinfection (HLD), enabling medical devices to be safely reused without the need for rinsing, drying, or extended turnaround times.

Designed specifically for TEE probes, CMAC laryngoscopes, and ENT endoscopes without operating channels, the Chronos Max utilises advanced UV-C technology to deliver consistent, validated disinfection at the touch of a single button.

Its high-performance UV-C chamber ensures full 360° exposure, eliminating shadowed areas. Integrated photodiodes monitor and validate critical disinfection parameters, including UV-C dose, temperature, and exposure time, guaranteeing reliable and traceable results without the need for manual chemical indicators.

Chronos Max has demonstrated proven efficacy against a broad spectrum of pathogens, including bacteria, yeasts, fungi, mycobacteria, spores, and viruses such as HPV and HIV. Depending on the microorganism, it achieves microbial reduction levels between 4-Log₁₀ (99.99%) and 6-Log₁₀ (99.9999%).

User-friendly design

Ergonomic, user-friendly design

The Chronos Max has an ergonomic design with a single control button and a foot-pedal-operated door to avoid hand contact. Its larger UV-C chamber and wider door simplify instrument handling, speeding up workflow and reducing operator strain. The device runs at a noise level three times lower than the AE1, allowing placement even in patient rooms without disturbance.

Sustainable design and operation

The development of the Chronos Max focused on long-term sustainability. It features a durable quartz hanger that is more resistant than conventional plastic, making it less vulnerable to UV exposure and reducing the need for frequent replacement. The device uses chemical-free UVC technology for disinfection, operating with low energy consumption. Its estimated recyclability rate is approximately 32% higher compared to the AE1.

The AE1 uses chemical-free UVC technology

for disinfection, operating with low energy consumption. Unlike the Chronos Max with its quartz hangers, the AE1 is equipped with plastic hangers that require periodic replacement.

Sustainable operation

The AE1 employs reliable RFID-based          device identification, ensuring that every disinfection cycle is documented and traceable. The system supports label printing using an external label printer. The software backend provides data archiving and subsequent retrieval, enabling the AE1 to meet traceability requirements in clinical environments.

Traceability

Complete Traceability

The Chronos Max features an advanced identification and documentation system. The device can automatically recognize inserted instruments using RFID tags and also identifies the operator. Detailed and retrievable cycle documentation is generated, which can be printed as a label via the integrated label printer. The built-in GermiTrac software enables organized and secure archiving of cycle data, supporting institutional compliance and auditability.

The advantages of the Chronos Max

1. High-Level Disinfection

Chronos Max guarantees high-level disinfection, effectively eliminating bacteria, viruses, fungi, mycobacteria, and spores. This enhances patient safety by ensuring the highest standard of disinfection.

2. UV-C Technology

Chronos Max uses germicidal UV-C light to disinfect by damaging the DNA, RNA, and proteins of microorganisms like bacteria, viruses, fungi, mycobacteria, and spores, making them inactive. The system’s specially designed reflective chamber eliminates shadow areas, ensuring all surfaces receive full UV-C exposure for thorough disinfection. This advanced UV-C technology effectively kills harmful microbes, lowering the risk of infection transmission.

3. Time-Saving Operation

The disinfection cycle takes only four minutes, significantly reducing the time compared to traditional cleaning methods, thereby speeding up workflows.

4. User-Friendly Operation

Designed for simplicity, Chronos Max can be easily operated with minimal training, allowing healthcare staff to focus on other critical tasks. The Chronos Max has an ergonomic design with a single control button and a foot-pedal-operated door to avoid hand contact.
