Around a year ago, we had the pleasure of installing two Khamsin automatic endoscope cleaning machines at the Royal Bristol Infirmary. Recently, we returned to celebrate this milestone with the fantastic team in the Endoscopy Decontamination Unit. It was a heartwarming visit, filled with smiles, laughter, and a little bit of cake!
Vanessa, our regional sales partner, brought a big cake for the team, complete with a candle to mark the “birthday” of the Khamsin machines. The staff, including Alan, Roy, Matt, and Elgin, gathered for photos, proud of the machines and the work they help accomplish every day.

A Year of Achievements
Over the past year, the two Khamsin machines have completed more than 3,800 cycles, safely cleaning over 7,600 endoscopes. It’s amazing how quickly the time has flown! A video we created last year showing the machines’ installation remains a favorite. It captures their journey from PFE Medical to the hospital, the installation by our engineering team, and the excitement of Roy and Matt as they tried the machines for the very first time.
We’ve made great progress with the Royal Bristol Infirmary. This year, together with Alan (the unit’s Decontamination Supervisor), and Annette Giles (Head of CSSD and Trust Decontamination Officer), we produced a short film highlighting how Khamsin has truly made a difference at the hospital. In the video, Alan explained that Khamsin’s automation has reduced repetitive strain injuries and back pain among staff, lightened their workload, and simplified daily operations.
A day full of joy and appreciation
The mini celebration was full of warmth and surprises. The staff were amazed at how quickly the year had passed! Vanessa shared how much she enjoys visiting the hospital, always welcomed with such kindness and generosity. Celebrating this moment with the team was a real joy and a wonderful reminder of what matters most, caring for our customers and building strong, supportive relationships.
The day ended with smiles, photos, and a sense of pride in both the Khamsin machines’ achievements and the fantastic team at the Royal Bristol Infirmary who make it all possible.
